土木も建築/Engineering works are construction, too.

IMG_00823月2日/建築は様々に発展している。新国立競技場の議論も大変に興味深い。建物の異形感は人びとの注目を引くが、意外と地下や周辺地形のデザインは当たり前のように環境変化を意識しない。しかし基壇を築く前の地形のデザインは建築との関係において重要なことは自明の理である。また、歴史的に見てもローマ時代の整然と区画された衛星都市から、中世の川の周辺に政治的、地勢的に発展した市街化。近世の、モニュメントを中心とした軸線の市街化計画は近代の都市計画へと繋がって地形をデザインして来た。それは取りも直さず土木工事。実際、都市計画の殆どは土木工事といえる。その人工的な地形が、様々な建物の建築を可能にしているがその土木工事は表面に出ない。平坦な方が移動も便利だと思うのだが、建築家や環境設計家は変化を求める。所謂高低差。これは俯瞰目線で模型を見た場合、変化に富んで奇麗だ。建築家や土木設計家はヒューマンスケール、モデユールについてもよくご存知のはず。インテリアも含めて、空間の変化というのはデザインする上では厄介な問題。気分の問題も絡むので、機能だけでは語れない。一方で、東京と言う変わった地形の河川の河岸デザインは良くない。それは東京という地形、歴史、文化、総体としての風土との関わりが実現出来ていない。川というよりも水と言い換えるとはっきりするが、コントロールは難しいのである。それは理解出来るが、河川の土木のデザインは最低だ。

March 2 /The construction develops variously.The argument of new National Stadium is very interesting.The heteromorphic feeling of the building attracts the attention of people, but the design of a basement and the neighboring topography is not conscious of an environmental change routinely unexpectedly.However, it is a self-evident truth that the design of the topography before building the foundation stone is important in the relations with the building.In addition, the city that it was political, and developed geographically around a river of the Middle Ages from the satellite city sectioned orderly of the Roman Empire period even if I looked historically.The city of the axis mainly on the early modern monument the plan,it led to the city planning of modern times and designed the topography.It is public works namely.Actually, it may be said that the most of the city planning are public works.The man-made topography enables the construction of various buildings, but the public works are not reflected on appearance.Flat one thinks the movement to be convenient, but an architect and the environmental artificer find a conjugation.So-called pitch difference.When you watch a model in an overlook glance, it seems to be full of changes, and this is beautiful.An architect and an artificer of engineering works should know a human scale, a module well.The problem that it is difficult that the interior and the building and the environment promote a change of the space in designing about them.Because the problem of the feeling affects it, I cannot talk about it only as a function.On the other hand, the design of the bank of a river by the strange topography called Tokyo is not good.The topography of Tokyo, the history, culture, a relation with the climate( we Japanese said “Fudo”) as the entirety cannot realize it.In other words, you might be became clear with water rather than a river, but the control is difficult.I can understand it, but the design of the engineering works of the river is lowest in the case of Japan.
