５月２日/本のタイトルには興味深いものがある。例えば、ハーマン・ミラー物語。このタイトルは、今は亡き日本の工業デザイナー渡辺力先生が、執筆当時グレン・ミラー物語という映画のタイトルから発想したらしい。尤も、その映画は執筆当時よりもだいぶ以前の封切りだった。この本は『室内』というインテリア・建築雑誌の連載記事だった。デザイン事務所に入所したての私は夢中になって読んだ記憶がある。タイトルは大事である。当時、森豪男先生の”ランブリング・ホーム”というシリーズがあり、これも”ランブリング・ボーイ”という歌を意識したものではないかと思う。ソットサスが立ち上げた”メンフィス”というグループ名も設立協議の際、彼のスタジオに流れていたボブ・ディランの歌のタイトルだと聞いた。さて私だが、”オールウェイズ３丁目の夕陽”から頂いて、”エァーウォール青山三丁目の緑地”とすることにした。乞うご期待。
