６月５日/ベルリンから本が届きました。７月の展示はこのアートブックになるかも知れません。ベルリンの本屋さんはアメリカの幾つかの美術館や大学の図書館にコレクションされています。縁あっての展示です。縁とは不思議なものです。縁といえば、先週金曜日はアアルト大学で私の授業を受講してくれた日本人留学生のYさんが事務所を訪ねてくれました。お昼をご一緒して、事務所で小一時間お話をしました。とても御元気そうで、嬉しかったです。彼女の話で興味深かったのは「しばらく同じ国に滞在することにした。その国の言葉を使い、働き、現地の人々のなかに溶け込みたい。」というものでした。これは大賛成です。デザイナーやアーティストとして成功する為に海外に滞在する人は多いのですが、その国の言葉で現地の人々と心を通わせる努力は何物にも代え難い相互理解への第一歩です。世界的なデザイナーを目指すなどというよりも、移民であることの自覚が必要なのではないかと思うからです。私よりも上の世代でも幾つかに分かれます。デラシネの如く、世界の有名ブランドや有名人を目指して活躍する人。一カ所に根付いて長く仕事をする人。帰国することを前提に、若い頃に海外で過ごす人。千差万別ですが、どれでも自分に合う道を切り開いていくしかないのです。一昨年は海外を放浪させてもらいましたが、これから結果を少しずつ発表していくことになります。ギャラリーもそうですが、今年度後半は私にとっても正念場でしょうか。小さなきっかけ、小さな出会いを大切にしたいです。
June 5 /A book arrived from Berlin.The exhibition of July may become this art book exhibition.These books are collected in the library of some American art museums and universities.It is the exhibition which cannot live without relationships.The relationship is a strangeness.Speaking of a relationship, Miss Aoi Yoshizawa of the Japanese foreign student who attended my class in Aalto University visited my office on last Friday.We went lunch and talked in my office for shorter than one hour.She seemed to be very cheerful and was glad.Her story was interesting.She told me,”I decided to stay in the same country for a while.Using native language, I want to adapt myself to there in work, and local people.”This is agreeable very much.There are many people who stay in the foreign countries to succeed as a designer and an artist,An effort to commune with local people by the native language of the country is the first step to the mutual understanding that it is hard to exchange with anything else.This is because I think whether the awareness of being an emigrant is necessary than they aim at the world-famous designers.Even a generation older than I is divided into some. Like dracin, the person who is active for a world famous brand and celebrity.The person who root in one place, and works for a long time.The person who spends it assuming going back to his own country abroad in youth.It is multifarious, but you should choice the way you are.I roamed around the foreign countries the year before last,I will announce the result little by little from now on.The gallery is so, too, will the latter half be a crucial moment for me this year?With a small opportunity, I want to take good care of a small encounter.
