９月２０日/イタリアで見かけた電動自転車かミニバイク。 モーターなのか、エンジンなのか、解らない。ハンドル部分も前輪の上についている物体もユニーク。イタリア人はこの風変わりなデザインを、機能で説明する。納得してしまうが、感覚的であることも確か。コモで見たジョゼッペ・テラーニのカサ・デ・ファッショはこれとは正反対。シンプルな合理性に貫かれている。この建物は二階部分から大きな空間が吹き抜けているらしい。らしい、というのは図面でしか見たことが無いからだ。名建築はどこかに大胆さがある。ファサードの端正な造りとは裏腹に豪快だ。小さな家でも、大胆さは創出可能。空間の見事さには、建築家の経験と性格によることが多いのだろう。最近２０世紀の建築史の見直しが始まっているらしい、といっても全く無名な人が注目される訳でもない。なにか政治的に無視されたり、現代から俯瞰して初めて歴史的に位置づけられる人たちだ。最近「技術者の敗戦」という本があることを知った。第二次世界大戦に於ける技術者達の話だが、技術者の思想や倫理などが話題にされることなく戦後の工業化社会に向けてその方々が影響力を持ったという話だ。テクノクラートはその技術開発を平和にも戦争にも、機能という面で関与する。それではデザインはどうだろう。よく言われるのは名取洋之助の話であるが、あの国策会社の生き残りは戦後も影響力を持ち続けて平和日本の経済推進の潤滑油になった。思想信条というのはテクノクラートには不必要なのかもしれないが、歴史的な自覚に乏しい私だが「技術者の敗戦」を読んでみたくなった。
September 20 /An e-bike or the minibike which I saw in Italy.I do not know the pour whether it is a motor or an engine.The mechanical part which is on on a steering wheel part and a front wheel is unique. Italian designer explains this odd design as a sort of function.I understand, but it is sensible for sure.The casa de fassio by Giuseppe Tarragni which I watched in Como is completely opposite to this.It is carried through in simple rationality.Big space seems to blow through this building from second floor part.Writing “seems” is because I looked only by a drawing.The excellent building has boldness somewhere.It is daring contrary to the handsome structure of the facade.In the small house, you can create the boldness.In the splendor of the space, it will often depend on experience and the character of the architect.A review of the history of building of the 20th century seems to begin recently, but a quite nameless person does not attract attention, though.I am ignored politically, and what it is is people who are placed historically only after famous reviewer overlook it from today.I knew that there was a book called “the defeat of the engineer” recently.It is the story of engineers in World War II.And the people had influence for postwar industrialized society as thought or the ethic of the engineer were not considered to be a topic.The engineer participates at the war and at the peace as the technology development on a function side.Then how about the design.It is a story of Yonosuke Natori to become the topic,survivors of that national policy concern follow with influence after the war,it became the lubricating oil of the peacefully economic promotion of Japan.The thought creed might be what was unnecessary for an engineer, but I who lacked in historic awareness wanted to read “the defeat of the engineer”.
